Is there an age requirement for students to participate?
Yes, the U.S. Department of Labor requires that students be 14 years old in order to participate in the Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP).
Do all Holy Family Cristo Rey students go to work?
All Holy Family Cristo Rey students are required to participate in the CWSP. Through CWSP, students contribute to the cost of their education, in addition to acquiring valuable work experience and skills.
What are the advantages of the CWSP for students?
Through the CWSP, students help to offset a portion of the cost of their education. In addition, students learn the value of work, and acquire real-world contacts, experience, and skills that will help them through college and beyond.
Do students get to choose where they work?
No. Students are interviewed and evaluated by CWSP staff, who then assign student teams to job sites, taking into consideration both the skill-level required for the job and the particular interests and skills of each student.
