Corporate Internship Program Overview

The Corporate Internship Program (CIP) is an integral part of the Holy Family Cristo Rey education.  The CIP provides many opportunities for Holy Family Cristo Rey students throughout the city of Birmingham.  Entry-level office positions in banking, law, medicine, finance and many other exciting career opportunities will be offered to the student.

One full-time, entry-level office job supports a team of four students.  The cost is $21,500 for the 2009-2010 school year and compensates for the time they spend working at your organization.  Holy Family Cristo Rey handles all employment issues such as Workers' Compensation, Social Security, Medicare and tax withholding. The money that you pay the students is used to cover their tuition costs at Holy Family Cristo Rey.

Each student will work one full day a week (five full days in a calendar month) to help cover 70% of his/her tuition.  The remaining four days of the week the student will attend classes. Holy Family Cristo Rey will administer the program as well as provide training and feedback for the students.  Holy Family Cristo Rey will also provide transportation to and from the work site.

Corporate Training Institute

All new students are required to attend the mandatory Corporate Training Institute before beginning classes at Holy Family Cristo Rey.  The 2-week program provides students with tools they will need to succeed in their jobs and gives the CIP staff the opportunity to help students do their best in the workplace.   New students cannot begin fall semester classes or participate in the Corporate Internship Program without completing Week 1 and Week 2 of the Corporate Training Institute.
