What is Holy Family Cristo Rey Catholic High School?

Holy Family Cristo Rey is a Catholic, college-preparatory school serving students with limited financial and educational opportunities.  All students work in corporate internships throughout metropolitan Birmingham in order to pay the majority of their tuition.

How long has Holy Family Cristo Rey existed?

Holy Family High School opened in 1943 to serve families of west Birmingham.  In 2007, we reopened as Holy Family Cristo Rey.  Learn more about our history here.

 

Do all of the students work?

Yes.  The corporate internship program is a required component of a Cristo Rey education.  Learn more about the Corporate Internship Program here.

 

Are all of your students Catholic?

Students of all faiths and backgrounds are welcome at Holy Family Cristo Rey.  The majority of our students are not Catholic.  Students are encouraged through Religion classes to explore their spirituality.  Learn more about our campus ministry here.
